Ethical issues

Following are the major ethical issues could happen with this project:

  1. Not getting permission from the private authors for using articles and blogs for the web design ideas
  2. Not citing the author who’s resource is used in this research project

Week 12: Making a choice: The system which is desirable to everyone

My question is: How and what the website should really represent and develop?

Fundamental goal: Creating such a system which  would make client’s work easy to define their brief for their website.

Design science research(DSR) can be used to framed this research project. After reading about this methodology, i was thrilled about how excellent it is to develop a system from an idea.

Following is the research framework created for this project by using the DSR methodology:

1: Identifying the problem:

The main purpose of this research project is to help non-technical clients build website which doesn’t require them to understand everything or investing their much time and still it works as a charm for their business.

I came to think about this specific research project just because i realized that there is a great need of unambiguity when the developers approach clients to ask what and how they want their website to be. There are tons of websites on the internet which doesn’t make any sense to their brand.

I want to do this project by myself as it is self initiative idea and the project. I believe this project has a immense potential that will change the way how the developers and clients communicates for their project. All non-technical people who want to make wonderful website will be more excited to bring themselves on internet.

I want to develop a system which is comprised of a obvious and intelligent checklist, prototype list, design patterns, and many more could be added to achieve the maximum efficiency to this goal.

2: Designing the solution:

At the initial stage, the solutions will start from few areas which will solve the basic problems being faced by the clients.

According to my understanding, the most basic problems being faced by the clients are like lack of knowledge of many different technology options (they have which could really fit their choice and market) , what exactly they want to represent (what content is vital to showcase and what really should be done), how they want their brand to be regarded as (company priorities, in-depth understanding of their products etc. ) and many more.

3: Implement the solution:

Attempting the rigorous and intelligent research which would collect all statistics and data about all existing technologies, innovative design patterns, efficient and reliable way of communication style etc. to a single paramount system.

4: Evaluate the solution:

The basic solutions this system would offer will positively affect the web development market and generate interest to the people who aren’t online yet.

By every small solution this system would offer by time, it will make people aware about this system and until the system would developed till it’s desired goal, it will be the most popular system to approach to build the websites.

5: Communicate the work:

Following are the necessary activity list for this project:

  • Research thoroughly about the basic problems the client facing these days
  • Research about various technologies, platforms, widgets, web design protocol etc. which are fruitful to web development
  • Research about the best communication system plan which would help the other researches reach easy way to clients
  • Documenting the list of different level of target for the system like initial target, mid-level etc.
  • Evaluating the outcomes with the desired outcome.
  • Patching the mistakes with the real requirements.

Week 11: Identifying a possible project: The Web Development

Questions about my topic:

  • What are the most popular trends in the web development these days?
  • What platforms and technologies are being used by the leading websites in the world?
  • What is the future of the web development?
  • What and how website owners really want from their website?
  • What is the best way to develop most secure and super-efficient website?
  • How to stay updated with the oncoming updates for the different technologies for the website?
  • How and what the website should really represent and developed?

Two good questions:

  1. What is the future of the web development?
  2. How and what the website should really represent and developed?

Fundamental goal underlying both of the questions:

  1. Fundamental goal behind questioning the future of the web development is to make sure that the platform or technology which we are going to learn or develop is useful.

Another main concern about this question is that if we know what the future web development would look like, we can start preparing for that challenge beforehand. So at such point of time, our development would be competitive.

  2. The main purpose of questioning this was to make things clear for the client and the developer. If we look at the most website, we can’t see the story of the company or what are they really doing or where they are going, what their brand want to be represented as.

If we can answer this question explicitly, the website would be attractive and more appealing to the customer as it will introduce the customer to their brand.

Week 10: Summary of the Area of Interest Exercise

I like every different technology and resources which are associated with the IT but the most I like these days is the “CMS Development”.

It seems interesting to me as the CMS is such an interactive and innovative tool which makes life easier. Any person with the non-it experience could develop and maintain their dynamic website using this service.

CMS has too many numbers of plugins developed by the experienced developers who are still pushing this platform ahead.  CMS is made so beautifully that end-user can easily choose their look, content, structure, design, functionalities, widgets, and many other things for their website. It is also a much intelligent tool that even experienced developer can customize the platform by using the different type of scripts made of using HTML CSS, JavaScript etc.

The future of the CMS is excellent as using such platforms, businesses don’t have to spend much amount of money for developers. They can develop their website using this platform and assign edit and update job to someone who has even very little knowledge of IT.

There are some things which I don’t know about CMS like plugin development, theme designing, etc.

I am interested in developing WordPress platform bit better which can improve the performance and functionalities of the platform. For example, improving and innovating different features like plugins, themes, platform itself etc, which would ultimately urge more customers to accept such type of platform.

a. Title of this article is “ A decade of agile methodologies: Towards explaining agile software development”

There are 4 authors who contribute to do research on the progress of agile methodology in the past 10 years.

Description of the special issues on agile software development and providing directions for future research on agile.

b.     This article trying to answer the life cycle of agile software development methodology in the past 10 years.

c.      Methods used by authors to answering the questions are extreme programming, scrum, lean software development, feature- driven development(FDD) and crystal methodologies.

d.     Credibility: This is an academic article. It provides the information about the authors. It was published on June 2012. It provides the proper references. This article is well structured like it provides all things like title, abstract, introduction, detail description, conclusion. It also provides the references for related articles. It provides the proper citations. So, this article is credible.

e.      I totally agree, what they wrote in the conclusion because they provide the results from the search and also discuss about the directions for the future research.

f.       This paper describes the research progress on agile in the last 10 years. It is hard to remember the decade of the twentieth century that introduces the so many software techniques, tools, and technologies and still need much more work on making agile coherent. There are many methods which are the core principles of the manifesto like extreme programming, scrum, lean software development and crystal methodologies.

Overview of research on agile: Agile principles are allowing to make changes at any level of development according to the requirements. Customers are also included into it during the development. Main goals of agile principles are providing the high-quality software. Different authors define the software development in agility in different ways.

1551 research papers were published from 2001 to 2010 on agile software development. The growth of journal articles and conference paper also increases. According to the publications more interest shown by the academic community in the agile development.

Agile development gains lots of attention from many communities like Profiles and EuroSPI which main focus on both ICSE and CSEE&T. IFIP and ICGSE and ESEM also devote attention to this particular topic.

European Journal of Information Systems are the leading publishers of agile articles. Seminars contribute to the better understanding and relationships between them.

In theoretical exploration on agile development, the distinction between agile methods of their different parts is the other concern. There were 252 articles which were published from 2001 to 2010. Four different reports are there which provides the overview of research. There are lots of special issues which are devoted to agile development.
